Tele2 intends to take part in net project for officials, security

MOSCOW, Sep 19 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator T2 RTK Holding, working under the Tele2 brand, wants to participate in the creation of a mobile connection network of the LTE-450 standard for officials and law enforcement staff, a company spokesperson told PRIME on Wednesday.

“We plan to take part in this project,” the spokesperson said.

Mass media reported earlier, referring to the Digital Economy program, that an LTE-450 wireless connection network for socially important facilities and law enforcement entities will be created by 2024. The 450 MHz frequency range is mainly used by T2 RTK Holding. The special network could cost 73.4 billion rubles.

The T2 RTK Holding spokesperson said that the LTE-450 standard ensures a high-quality coverage and fast data transfer. A basic station of this standard covers the area with radius of over 20 kilometers, which is five to six times more than the LTE standard on 2,600 MHz.
